Born in Shanghai and raised in Beijing, I spent my first eighteen years in China – one of the world’s oldest civilizations and largest developing economy. After graduating from a public international school in Beijing, I attended Duke University and acquired a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with minors in Economics and Cultural Anthropology. Currently, I am a third-year Juris Doctor student at the Duke University School of Law.
During my undergraduate career at Duke, I was involved in organizing the annual Duke-UNC China Leadership Summits (CLS)—a series of student-run academic and policy conferences on U.S.-China relations and China affairs. At CLS, I served as the Logistics Chair (2021), Co-Deputy Director (2022), and Co-Director (2023). In the summer of 2020, I participated in Project Nous as a course designer and instructor. At this non-profit program promoting liberal arts education in China, I taught a seminar-based introductory course on international relations to local high school students. At Duke, I was also an active member of the Bass Connections team of “Policy Surveillance of Universal Health Coverage Financing in Developing Countries,” conducting policy reviews and analysis for Nigeria and South Africa. In addition, I worked for Prof. Yunchuan Chen to assist his research in crosslinguistic influences during the summer of 2022.
At Duke Law, I have been involved in the Duke Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA), where I served as one of the Co-Presidents for the 2024-2025 academic year. I also participated in two pro bono projects during my first year—the Deferred Action for Migrant Workers Clinic through the Duke Immigrant and Refugee Project and the Reprieve project through the Duke Law Human Rights Pro Bono Program.
In the summer of 2024, I interned for District Judge Richard M. Berman at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. In the summer of 2025, I worked at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP as a summer associate. In the fall of 2026, I will be joining Sullivan & Cromwell LLP as an associate in its General Practice department.
I am also a theater actor, participating in musical productions such as Les Miserables (as M. Thénardier) and The Secret Garden (as Ben Weatherstaff) as well as plays in English and Mandarin Chinese, including The Village (寶島一村; as Zhou Ning), The Insanity (你好, 疯子; as Yang Meng in 2020 and as Xiao Nai-En in 2021), Mr. Donkey (驴得水; Stage Manager), Mumble Jumble (亂民全講; Associate Director and as Cartoon Man), and ONE ONE ZERO EIGHT (incoming) (幺幺洞捌; as Lao Zhuang and Bai Shi).
I am ISFJ-T (Defender).
In my free time, I love to cook, sing, play the piano, practice my ukulele skills, or just take a walk in the woods.
